Peru sees my pictures!

A paper in Peru, El Comercio, has published photos I took at Fremont Coffee Company a couple weeks ago. The barista there does some really neat latte art portraying movie and cartoon characters very well!

To see all the photos I've taken at Fremont Coffee Company check out my set on Flickr: here

AMA Supercross 2011

Last month we went to Qwest Field for the AMA Supercross. I rented a big fun lens for the occasion and just got a chance to edit the photos this week. The event was awesome and a really fun experience overall. My Flickr page has the entire set so check it out if you want to see!

Babber's Bonnet

It's been quite chilly here in beautiful Seattle, so much so that we're snowed in at the moment. in celebration of the icy weather I've made a snug little head warmer for my tiny companion. I know I know, tormented she may look but I assure you she appreciates this sucker while out in the brisk northwestern air.

Pike Place Market

It's been a fun extended weekend so far. We welcomed a couple friends in from ATL yesterday and took them to Snoqualmie Falls, Fremont and Pike Place Market since they arrived. I mainly focused on the market. Check out my Flickr page if you'd like to see more.

Wetland Trail

Well, I'm officially part of the workforce again and it feels great! I really love the people I work with and it's absolutely wonderful to work for another small company. It would really be hard for me to go back to working for a large corporation again so I'm thankful to be where I'm at now. I was so busy this week that keeping up with my 365 went completely out the window. Oh, well...I'm happy with the pictures I have of my year thus far. I'll try and keep up on a weekly update at this point as I'm sure I'll have my camera with me every weekend anyway.

This weekend was a bit of a downer because there was so much going on in Seattle but even more obstacles to overcome in order to join in on all the fun. I was looking forward to the Solstice Parade/Fremont Fair all week and even the weather man was positive the weather would hold out for it. Boy was he WRONG! Not only did it rain all weekend but getting even close to the festivities was an issue. Bridges were closed, cars were jammed into the tiny streets of our neighborhood all the way to the other side of the hill that leads to Fremont and it's bridge. We decided to backtrack and try a different route but once we made it into Fremont it was even worse so we vacated all plans to attend and took off with the pup over to Carkeek Park.

We have been to Carkeek several times but never walked the trails so we went through the wetlands there and I snapped a few shots of the foliage during our walk. Among the colorful shrubs, foamy flowers and little streams it felt great to get away from the city sounds even if it was for just an hour or so. Clover had been cooped up all week so she quite enjoyed the walk as well.

Here's one of the pictures I took while there and the rest can be found in my Carkeek Album on Flickr.

Today we went to the Asian Art Museum here in Seattle and saw a wonderful exhibit of the woodblock prints by Hokusai, Harunobu, Utamaro, Eishi and Hiroshige. The most familiar of these prints are Great Wave off Kanagawa and Red Fuji but all of them were simply gorgeous. We spent all afternoon there gawking at ancient art and spending some time in a few of the rooms we didn't have time to see on our last visit. I also picked up pamphlets from the other museums in town that have some really interesting exhibits at the moment so I hope to catch a few of these over the next few weeks.

Clover Training

Clover has had a leash pulling problem and we're trying a no pull harness on her. So far we've had to trade it in for a smaller size and we're still not sure if it's going to be effective but may be worth a shot. It looks so uncomfortable to wear but this happy dog doesn't seem to mind one bit <3

Lake Sammamish

The sun decided to show it's face all day today! After making a quick stop at the post office we whisked the dogger out to Lake Sammamish to check out the park. There were a lot of people but the park has at least two dozen grilling areas, a playground, a few pavilions and trails all over so it wasn't crowded at all. They had a little horse shoe game area and we saw some big fields that groups had set up volleyball courts in. It's a really nice park even though it was a bit muddy from the rain all week. Gotta get used to that living here though.

If you want to check out some more pictures from our outing check out my Flickr album.

May Day

Out running errands this afternoon with Jon and snapped this. Wanted to make a different picture but didn't find what I was looking for so it'll have to wait. I DID pick up some organic yarn that was fabulously cheap because of a super sale I stumbled upon. Will have to get to work on some projects I've had in mind and I think I'll make myself another snuggly hat with my new yarn since it's still pretty cold out. Maybe even crank out a beanie for Jon's head since the hairs have forsaken him.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Saturday! I had yummy fish tacos for lunch with Jon at our fav Mexi place and got Clover some new treats while we were out. Even though it was a bit on the chilly side we went for an evening stroll before the sun went down and met a Bostie neighbor pup named Rocky that tried to hump Clobbs but thankfully that won't work on her...hehe. Oh! I showed Jon a little hidden park he hadn't been to so that we fun as well!

Good Night Everyone!!

House Tour

Instead of a self portrait today you get to see my home. We moved across the country from Atlanta to Seattle back in October but with the holidays and unpacking this is the first I've had a chance to take pictures of the place. This is mostly for family and friends that have asked to see the new place (:

Waiting

Shopped around town with my boyfriend today, but my allergy meds were making me woozy so I spent some time outside in the shade. Thought the lines in the sidewalk with the bench bars looked neat so I snapped this one today.

Birthday Weekend

Fun fun birthday weekend with these two! Spent yesterday shopping for yarn, new cookware and bathroom linens. Found most of what I needed including a cupcake storage container (so in love). Today we lazed about until noon then went up to Picnic Point for the sunset. It's funny how drastic the hours of daylight change here. When we moved here in October the sun went down at almost 3pm! Tonight it waited until 5pm so we explored the beach and I took my camera. Check out Picnic Point!

Hate Hill

I hate this hill and this hill hates me. We spend too much time together as my apartment sits atop the hill and the city I so love to explore awaits me at the bottom.

I long for the day that my legs, lungs and butt don't mind this hike!

Roastery

Spent the afternoon in Fremont with some friends. One happens to be an excellent local roaster and let me photograph his roastery. We also walked around Fremont before the sun set and I took some more!
