getting there...

this morning i had my portfolio review with the director of my photo program and another instructor. i was totally nervous and didn't expect to be. i figured that if they didn't choose any of my work i would just have to shoot my butt off. but, hey! they actually like some of my stuff. they chose a lot from things i do myself like well-lit DJ pictures from some events i attend and random shooting i do when i'm bored. attached are a few they picked and i'll probably put them all up soon along with continuing to update the progression of my book. it's so weird/exciting to be at this point. i can finally be creative and try to shoot at the level i want to.

snow day

being a Florida-girl makes snow a little more than exciting for me. it started falling all around my house at about 5pm this afternoon and actually stuck! everyone here gets a little excited when it snows while the northerners just roll their eyes at us and say "that's not really snow". i don't care tho, it's sooooooooooooo pretty. look, i even took pictures! *blush*

404 Audio 5 year anniversary!

The lovely 404 Audio celebrated it's 5th birthday this past weekend with Mass Transit. Incredibly talented dj's like AK1200, Gridlok, The Upbeats and Random Movement made sure we would never forget the evening. I spent the majority of the party with my camera and thought you might like to see what I came out with. Here's a little of my work from that night, but you can follow this link to my photo album on 404 Audio's website for the rest: click me

Andrew Zuckerman

i find myself searching through pages upon pages of artists almost daily. i do this for many reasons...inspiration, admiration and many times pure boredom. i'd like to use this entry to highlight a photographer that's truly an inspiration to me. his name is Andrew Zuckerman. he's a fantastic photographer and has a book out called "Creature" that is made up of some of the most fantastic animal portraits i've ever seen. his simplistic approach by only using white as a background accentuates the animal's texture and dynamics to the fullest. i've put together a few that i've found online but mind you, these don't even begin to show how incredible this man is. <3

a little...

i've never been much of a "blogger", but i'm starting to really appreciate it on other websites. with that said, i love this site and really want one on here now. i really look forward to building my blog and sharing my loves and dislikes with this site.
